On 6 March, shops, supermarkets and cheesemongers across Denmark will host tastings and small events dedicated to cheese. In the Capital Region alone, 21 events are planned.

Several supermarkets, including Meny, Bilka and Føtex, are hosting tastings where visitors can stop by and sample different cheeses. Independent shops are also joining the celebration. At Osten ved Kultorvet in central Copenhagen, the programme includes tastings of aged cheeses such as six-year-old parmesan and eight-year-old Swiss mountain cheese. Visitors can also take part in a prize draw for a whole West Jutland cheese.

The events are open to everyone and many are free to attend, making the day an easy excuse to explore new flavours, whether that means stopping by a local supermarket tasting or visiting one of the city’s specialist cheese shops.

The event was first launched in 2024 and is now marked by cheese shops and retailers across Denmark.
