If your workout wardrobe could use a little more *Flashdance*, GANNI’s new collaboration with lululemon is worth a look. Inspired by ’80s dance films, the 22-piece collection brings boleros, ruffled trims and bold colour combinations to clothes made for movement.

“’80s dance movies have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like such a natural starting point,” says Ditte Reffstrup, creative director of the Copenhagen fashion house.

### From the studio to the street

GANNI’s familiar prints meet lululemon’s technical fabrics, with pieces including a fresh take on the sportswear brand’s Define Jacket. Headbands and leg warmers complete the dance references, but you do not need a rehearsal booked to try them. A bolero over a simple top or a flash of leopard print offers an easy way to bring a little of that energy into an everyday outfit.

For Reffstrup, the inspiration goes beyond what the dancers wore.

“I’ve always been drawn to the energy, determination and sense of freedom in those films, and the way dance becomes such a powerful form of self-expression,” she says.

### Watch the campaign

Appropriately, *Flashdance* actor Jennifer Beals joins singer and dancer METTE for the campaign’s [short film](https://corporate.lululemon.com/newsroom/our-stories/2026/ganni-and-lululemon-join-forces-for-a-collaboration-inspired-by-the-joy-of-movement?utm%5Fsource=chatgpt.com), shot in a dance studio. It is a good place to start if you want to see the clothes doing what inspired them: moving.

The collection launches on 15 October, giving you a few days to watch the film and decide how far into the ’80s you want to go.
