Comic Con: Three picks for your visit

A short guide to what’s on at Bella Center this weekend

1. Browse the artists’ tables

Artist Alley has moved to the entrance hall this year, so there’s a good excuse to take your time on the way in. Pick up a comic you’ve never heard of and ask the person who drew it where the idea came from. And if you have an old Don Rosa comic at home, this is a weekend to dig it out. The cartoonist behind some of the Scrooge McDuck stories in Denmark’s Anders And & Co. will be signing his work in Hall C on both days.

2. Catch the cosplay parade

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, fans in costume will make their way through the convention hall. Half the fun of watching from the sidelines is seeing how many characters you recognize. If your own costume is still a work in progress, the designers at Perseus Design Studio are holding a drop-in session on Sunday where you can ask about anything from how to put a piece together to which paint to use.

3. Hear from the actor who played Neville Longbottom

There’s quite a distance between the boy who loses his toad in the first Harry Potter film and the one who stands up to Voldemort in the last. That’s plenty to ask Matthew Lewis about when he takes questions on Saturday at 16.15 and Sunday at 10.30. Both sessions are included with admission.
